Vice Gov. Ben Alonzo invites Penelco   Print  E-mail 
RGM Loreto Marcelino together with his staff attended the SP (Sangguniang Panlalawigan) Committee Hearing on the same day of September 28, later in the afternoon after attending the Mayor's League Meeting through the invitation of Vice Gov. Benjamin Alonzo. The Board Members present, were Hon. Orly Miranda, Hon. Dante Manalaysay, Hon. Florendo, Hon. Salandanan & Hon. Manny Beltran.

The subject of discussion was the Municipal resolution passed by the Sangguniang Bayan of Limay containing among others a reiteration of their request with sincere demand from PENELCO Board of Directors to allocate a seat solely for the Municipality of Limay, Bataan.

In this regard, Vice Gov. Alonzo requested RGM Marcelino for some clarification as to where the Board of Directors stand in the organizational structure of PENELCO.

Not only did RGM Marcelino explained in details the present set-up of PENELCO but he also discussed the accomplishment and 5 to 10 year development program of PENELCO. After the presentation, Vice Gov. Alonzo, acknowledged and commended PENELCO for it's good performance as shown in the continuous reduction of System Loss and imposition of lowest rate in Luzon based on records.

Vice Gov. Alonzo also asked about the different parameters or criteria that make PENELCO a better one than other electric cooperatives in the country and Engr. Marcelino presented to the committee, the Coop's Key Performance Indicators such as: Collection Efficiency, System Loss, Load Factor, Average System Rate and other factors affecting the performance of PENELCO. RGM did not disregard the unwavering support and cooperation of the local & provincial officials of Bataan, NGO's, Member Consumers and the PENELCO Board of Directors as also very important factors in the Penelco's achievements.

In connection to the subject of the Committee hearing, Vice Gov. was given a copy of PENELCO By Laws which states the provisions regarding the number of districts that PENELCO is allowed to have and other matters concerning district meetings and District elections.

As a concluding statement, Vice Gov. Alonzo, extended his appreciation for PENELCO's presence on that hearing. Seemingly totally convinced that PENELCO is really doing a good job, he declared his full support to PENELCO's electrification program and even offered his assistance to intercede so that Transco will charge PENELCO a much lower rate being a Host Province/Source of power.
