ELLAINE SORIANO-DE GUZMAN, a woman hails from Gabon, Abucay, Bataan was born on 13 November 1969.

Ellen, as friends and relatives fondly called her is the youngest of the four siblings, and was raised with elevated deportment by Gelacio and Pilar Soriano, her parents.

At a very young age, she was trained to manage small business; she used to sell varieties in their store, the principal step why she has a quick grasp in financial management. Also, during her primary and secondary days, she used to represent her alma mater in various activities and graduated with honors.

In 1990, Ellen completed her degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Accounting with honors, Cum Laude, at the Philippine School of Business Administration (PSBA). Immediately upon her graduation, she took the CPA Licensure Examination and passed with impressive rate.

Quite brief upon graduation and licensure examination, Ellen started her career at PENELCO on 06 December 1990 as Audit Clerk/Trainee prior to the exigency having additional manpower for the audit of Balanga Service Center, at which time, a 100% audit is necessary to perform for the right balances during inventory. Her application was accepted through the endorsement of the Internal Auditor then, Ms. Isip.

After a month, she was given an appointment from Trainee to Casual. She proved her dependability and worthiness during her training period. Shortly, she got her permanent appointment as Audit Staff in July of 1991.

Ms. De Guzman was so pleasant to work with as described by some employees even at the early days of her employment with the coop. She was too eager to learn her job and performed it with distinction and quality results. As such, though still very young then, she was groomed to become a leader. She was exposed to various seminars and conferences, enhancing both her personal and professional growth. Essentially, her dependability, strong will to learn and competency made her to hold the highest standing in PENELCO's Audit Department, the Internal Audit Department Manager since September of 1993.

At present, she is assigned to multiform tasks, holding Chairmanship of the different committees in the organization. She is in-charged in the Retirement Loan Benefit (RLB) of employees and is involved in the Unbundling of Rates and Loan Condonation (URLC).

Further, Ms. De Guzman and her other co-Department Managers are now working out towards some major development programs of PENELCO for the continuous economic boom of the province. In this, distinct schemes are being presented to the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), considering its role to finance those undertakings through its Rural Power Projects being funded by the World Bank exclusively for the Electric Cooperatives. In the recently held meeting, she played a vital task as she presented an overview of PENELCO and its operations.

For almost five (5) years now, she is luxuriating in married life with Jhe, a Computer Enthusiast. Truly guided, Ellen and Jhe were blessed with a very active and smart boy Aidan Jeo, four years old and presently studying at the Bataan Montessori School under JC-I class. Although their kid is too young, the couple with other friends and relatives has seen Aidan Jeo's inclination in religious matters. Regardless, they will be glad with whatever God's will.
