The conference’s theme for the year is “NEA-ECs-MCOs (Member Consumer-Owners): Forging Change Towards Nation Building” wherein the newly appointed NEA Administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong laid down his Seven (7) Point Agenda which is aligned with President Rodrigo Duterte’s and DOE Secretary Cusi’s agenda for electricity. The Administrator’s agenda is the basis of NEA in crafting its programs to strengthen the electric cooperatives. The seven point agenda includes the following: (1) Complete the National Rural Electrification Program, (2) Intensify Capacity Building Program for the ECs, (3) Prioritize the Empowerment Program for Electric Consumers, (4) Carry-out Rural Development Program through Rural Electrification Program, (5) Carry-on the Current Corporate Governance Program of NEA, (6) Strengthen Networking and Linkage with the policy makers to ensure that legislative agenda beneficial to NEA, ECs and electric consumers are given attention to, (7) Introduce the Paradigm Shift from Central NEA to Federal State Electrification Administration. The Administrator believes that the challenges set forth with the aforementioned agenda are necessary to realize the desired growth in the countryside.

All the efforts and endeavors of PENELCO are towards achieving the necessary change required to support the plans of the whole province of Bataan and the needed transformation for nation building. It is an embraced responsibility carried-out in an appreciative manner, a commitment of service to memberconsumers. (Jisenny Limcumpao)
