True to its goal and mission, PENELCO keeps on adopting the state-of-the-art equipage. Part of its continuous thrust to give high quality service is through the acquisition, installation and energization of substations fully equipped with top of the line relay and switch gear.

All newly constructed substations of PENELCO are now supplied with microprocessor relay. This equipment easily senses and detects the line-to-ground or line-to-line faults, which once sensed commands the breaker to automatically trip and isolate the line without affecting other lines connected to it.

A substation operating without relay means no protection to substation power transformer, and therefore, the whole area connected to such station would suffer once trouble occurs. And PENELCO does not want to happen that.

To date, among the Service Centers catering the areas with this electronic device include Dinalupihan, Orani, Abucay, Cabcaben and Limay. The substation situated in PENELCO main office compound is also equipped with this gadget. (MCG)
