PENELCO Celebrates 25th Founding Anniversary   Print  E-mail 

The Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Inc. has reached another milestone as it celebrated its 25th Founding Anniversary on April 10, 2015 at Pan Resort and Events Place, Abucay Bataan.

Simple as it is, PENELCO's Silver Anniversary was opened with a concelebrated mass that was presided by twelve (12) priests from the different parishes of Bataan, with The Most Reverend Ruperto C. Santos, D.D. Archbishop of the Diocese of Balanga as the principal celebrant. The Eucharistic celebration is the Cooperative's expression of gratitude for the resolute goodness of the Lord who never failed to guide its Board of Directors, Management and employees since its inception on April 1990.

On the night of the festivity, all have exquisitely transformed themselves as they attended the Silver Ball in their formal attire. The ballroom was filled and bejeweled by the elegantly dressed Board of Directors, Management Staff, Employees, and retired employees who attended and celebrated the momentous occasion.

Recognizing the uphill struggle of the people behind the numerous achievements of PENELCO, Director Almario Rubia of Mariveles, being a pioneer member of the Board, acclaimed the prime movers of the Cooperative who have come together, have stayed together and have worked together for its success; the NEA Management Team headed by Engr. Edgardo Piamonte; the interim Board of Directors headed by then president Ms. Cecilia Banzon; the provincial government of Bataan and most especially the former BATELCO employees and PENELCO pioneer employees whose collective efforts have brought drastic changes and improvement to PENELCO's operations. Dir. Rubia has also called and challenged the present employees especially the younger generation to move forward, join hands and work together for the continuous success of PENELCO. Incorporated in the event's theme "Resilience, Persistence, and Excellence" was the giving of awards and recognition to the top performing employees/service centers for the years 2011 to 2014. These distinctions aim to inspire the employees to be ardent and to pursue their work for excellence. This year's awardees are:

Similarly, the evening was also set to honor and distinguish the 113 Silver Awardees who played an integral part in the restoration and revitalization of PENELCO as it rose from the ashes of the defunct BATELCO. In celebration of their 25 years in service, the Silver Awardees performed a 30-minute Pilipino Song Medley Chorus and a group dance presentation.

Truly this one-night-only celebration has brought back memories and recollection of each other's journey as they grow within the cooperative. Despite of being one of the youngest Electric Cooperative in the country, PENELCO has shown strength in battling the challenges it has encountered.

Thanks to all the people who braved the difficulties and hurdled the complexities of bringing light to the province of Bataan. As quoted from Debbie Fields, customer service doesn't come from a manual, it comes from the heart. When you're taking care of the customer, you can never do too much.

And there is no wrong way... if it comes from the heart. Indeed, the Board of Directors, Management and employees of PENELCO are more than happy to serve its member consumers.
