PENELCO Bags the Most Outstanding Customer Award   Print  E-mail 

Service to excellence and true to its commitment!– Be it for costumers or suppliers, PENELCO makes certain that it delivers what is due and proper, rendering its obligation.

One of the avenues to provide the best service to end-users is to have reliable power supply which could be easily obtain if the cooperative gains the trust of the supplier to transport the dependable power requirements. To win the trust though, the good track of record as customer is a plus factor, and PENELCO has this trademark. Since its operation, from the National Power Corporation to its current supplier, PENELCO pay bills on time thus receiving the discounts to share to all consumers through rate reduction.

Taking its part, PENELCO once again was commended on 08 November 2012. In the celebration of the customers’ day of San Miguel Energy Corporation (SMEC), held at the Isla Ballroom, Shangri-La Hotel, EDSA, Mandaluyong City, PENELCO was given the highest and most prominent award that SMEC bestowed to distribution utility, the “Most Outstanding Customer”. It is the electric cooperative’s pride that PENELCO outshone all other large distribution utilities.

In the same activity, PENELCO also bagged the “Prompt Payor Award”. PENELCO’s Board President, Mr. Alberto A. Villaruz handed the two major awards. Attending with him includes Engr. Loreto A. Marcelino-General Manager, Engr. Edwin Zaldivar- Engineering Manager, Ms. Ellaine S. De Guzman- Finance Manager, Ms. Marilou C. Gonzales-Energy Trading/Corporate Planning/IT Manager, Ms. Johnna T. Dizon-Energy Trading Supervisor and Ms. Mylene Domingez-Staff Assistant.

On top, Engr. Zaldivar presented the best practices of PENELCO which amazed the delegates of the event. The celebration was participated by various customers and players in the power industry, including the Energy Regulatory Commission. Mr. Ramon Ang, President and Chief Operating President of San Miguel Corporation, also graced the affair. As a background, PENELCO started dealing with SMEC since the award of the administration of IPP contract of the National Power Corporation (NPC) for the Sual Coal Fired Power Station to SMEC and PENELCO’s assignment to the latter; that is, in pursuant to the terms of the Contract for the Supply of Electric Energy (CSEE) with the PSALM’s rights and obligations under its CSEE. For more than three (3) years, PENELCO acquired at least 80% of the monthly power requirements. In the entire business relationship with SMEC, PENELCO consistently meets its financial obligations hence the receipt of the discounts and benefits.
