As per Memorandum issued by the National Electrification Administration dated June 13, 2007 stale accounts were reviewed and given the much needed action both from the consumers and the management.
The PENELCO Finance Department first conducted the actual inventory to the respective Service Centers, after which the demand letters were furnished to those with outstanding balances. As of October 2009, 8 towns have already undergone the distribution of demand letters: Hermosa, Samal, Pilar, Abucay, Limay, Bagac, Balanga, and Mariveles excluding Cabcaben. The distribution of the demand letters also served as information dissemination to consumers not aware that disconnected accounts does not incur surcharges and late payment charges unlike other utilities. The objective of which is to be able to collect the accounts receivables from the consumers and to finally clear off those who are qualified to the criterion set by the guidelines of NEA. |
