02 August 2009, a rainy Sunday and yet, it was indeed worth a victory shout for the entire family of PENELCO as the Presidential Adviser for Rural Electrification (PARE), the Honorable Secretary Francisco G. Silva popped round PENELCO.
Despite his busy and demanding schedule, moreover that August is the eventful month for the National Electrification Administration (NEA), Sec. Silva made it a point to drop by PENELCO before his way and stay to the NEA for a week-long celebration of the administration’s 40th year anniversary. The adverse weather condition was never a hindrance to the very supportive PARE to be available and be present to his favorite PENELCO; as he mentioned how he claimed and considered PENELCO to reside in his heart.
Jai Ho, and yes, it rained a bit at the intro but the employees of PENELCO enjoyed their welcome presentation and were more than willing to continue dancing to the tune of Jai Ho, an expression and shout of victory and demonstration of appreciation, the PENELCO way, while under the rain. But, the PARE of good heart after seeing that PENELCO family has made plans for in case of heavy rains (an option, simple gesture and proof of PENELCO’s readiness), opted to go through the second plan and enjoyed the fête.
The Secretary’s entourage included the 45 delegates from the CEBECO family (Directors and Department Managers of CEBECO I, II and III), and the 35 staff and associates of PELCO II. Sec. Silva and the CEBECO family all along with their baggage, upon landing the Manila airport, proceeded to PENELCO to experience the customary and best practices of their sister co-op PENELCO. PELCO II, another flourishing co-op in the region, joined the social gathering.
Although the interaction lasted for around four hours only, it was truly a new fruitful event worth marking the calendar for everyone was happy and got through exchanges of practices to phase in respective electric cooperative. |
