In cooperation with the National Electrification Administration’s (NEA) 40th Anniversary Celebration with their theme “Green Light at 40”, all Electric Cooperatives (EC) are called to participate in an inter-island Chorale Competition with the song Paraiso as the contest piece.

For Luzon ECs, a Regional Level Competition was held where ECs belonging to the same region vied to be chosen as the representative for the Inter-Region Chorale Competition. Region III convened its Chorale Competition last June 26, 2009 at Pampanga I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PELCO I) Headquarters, Mexico, Pampanga.

Brief as it is, the event was filled with awe as participants from Pampanga II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PELCO II), Nueva Ecija II Electric Cooperative, Inc. Area 2 (NECO II, Area 2), and Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PENELCO) delivered their contest piece.

In the end, NECO II - Area 2 was chosen to represent the Central Luzon Region to compete in the interregion Chorale Competition on July 15, 2009 at NEA HESA Hall, Quezon City. They will have the chance to represent the island of Luzon in the Green Light at 40 Celebration on July 30, 2009.

Accordingly, PENELCO and PELCO II were equally recognized for their participation. Go NECO II - Area 2, Central Luzon ECs are proud of you. (rtd)
