Health is Wealth! This year’s Annual Physical Examination was conducted last May 6-8, 2009 at the Leadership Hall, PENELCO Main Office. It was facilitated by Metro Medical Systems with the partnership of Prudentialife HealthCare, Inc. Two hundred thirty four (234) out of two hundred eighty six (286) regular employees took part of the said examination.

Annual Physical Examination is a form of Preventive Medicine consisting of Physical & Diagnostic evaluation essential in the early detection of medical problems before they illness. It aims to; (1) promote health awareness among employees in the workplace, (2) prevent illness by catching them at an early stage and avoid the spread of infectious diseases, (3) guard the health of the workforce to minimize their absences due to preventable illness, (4) identify top illness in the workforce so as to find ways and means on how to prevent them, (5) assess the overall health status of the employees and (6) foster health lifestyle among employees and support a healthy working environment. The said examination comprises of the following procedures; complete physical exam, complete blood count (cbc), routine urinalysis, routine stool exam, chest x-ray, eye check-up, electrocardiogram (ecg), pap smear and blood chemistry.
