The spirit of camaraderie and merriment was once again enflamed on the ground of PENELCO when its employees, Board of Directors, and special guests gathered for an afternoon of fun and gettogether for the first time this year. After surviving the harsh challenges and hurdles brought about by the previous year, the PENELCO family proved, yet again, that they will continue to stand on their grounds and face anything that might come to the COOPERARATIVE. And
what other way can a worn out soul be appeased but with a little festivity when all position barriers, differences and formalities were set aside for the sake of just spending a little time with the people one fought with? 15 May a day when each of the PENELCO employees rekindled the fire of unity within them as they welcome the new set of Board of Directors and celebrate the birthdays of those who were born in the month of May with a little program, which was graced with the presence of the honorable Gov. Tet Garcia.
The program commenced with a prayer to honor the Father’s name followed by the welcoming and recognition of the BODs and the special guests, and then an opening remark given by Dir. Alberto Villaruz. The ever energetic Mr. Joselito Izon, who hosted the program, entertained and lightened the mood with his witty introduction of the new set of BODs and of Gov. Tet Garcia. The BODs and Gov. Garcia gave their speeches and appreciation for the warm welcome.
After which, the May birthday celebrants took the stage and heated it up with their special dance number straight from the 80’s, that in more ways than one, probably tickled the hearts of most of the people present in the gathering which made the mood even lighter. The cake and wine ceremony followed after. As a closing to the mini program, parting messages were given by Dir.
Fuster, Dir. Rubia, and the General Manager, Engr. Marcelino. And of course, like most festivities, a humble yet mouth-watering meal was shared by everyone.
Relaxed and sated, this May celebration will be again part of the increasing memories of the PENELCO family. To everyone and their efforts, to the new BODs, to the Management, to the member-consumers, and to all who are supporting the Cooperative: God Bless and Let’s keep doing our best for the people of Bataan! |
