Power substations being built and constructed by PENELCO are all Philippine Grid Code (PGC) compliant on standard connection at the Connection Point.
Under Section 4.5.1.2 of PGC states that, The Connection Point shall be controlled by a Circuit Breaker that is capable of interrupting the maximum short circuit current at point of connection. However, connections to subtransmission lines 69 kv and below, shall at least be provided with disconnect switches and faulted circuit indicators at the tapping point, but all substations connected thereto shall be provided with Circuit Breakers.” Power Substation and Subtransmission Department (PSSD) recently built/constructed and rehabilitated another three (3) 10 MVA and one (1) 5 MVA in Hermosa, Orion, PENELCO Main Office and Abucay area, respectively installed with Circuit Breaker and Fault Indicator to comply with (PGC’s) standard connection requirements.
The installation of Circuit Breakers with Protective Relays coordinates its tripping sequence at the upstream line of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines to the downstream line of PENELCO. Likewise, annual preventive maintenance of PENELCO’s twelve (12) substation has been conducted to have its equipment apparatus benchmarking and also to form part of PGC’s requirement.
With this, fulfilling PENELCO’s vision/mission for delivering a continuous, efficient and reliable quality power service to our member-consumers. |
