The first of the twelve district elections for the Board of Directors of Penelco was held last December 17, 2008 in Mariveles. The election was conducted at G. Llamas Elementary School and Cabcaben Elementary School.

The only qualified candidate was Mr. Almario S. Rubia, who was also a former Director of Penelco. Out of 20, 113 registered member-consumers, 1,413 or 7% voted. As the only candidate for the District of Mariveles, Mr. Rubia was again elected and proclaimed as the Director of Mariveles, with a total of 1,166 votes. There were 247 stray votes for those who voted for Michael Operario, who was disqualified to run for this election.

After almost two years, the district of Mariveles has once again a Director who would truly and happily serve and represent its memberconsumers in Penelco.
