On November 21, 2008 C E B E C O I, II, & III employees visited our Coop for the first stop of their Lakbay-Aral of some electric cooperatives in Luzon. They were accompanied by Presidential Adviser on Rural Electrification, Secretary Francisco Silva and were treated to the warm hospitality of the PENELCO family. The guests were ushered in by the employees through a fiesta welcome bash that led to the short programme that included a presentation of the Coop’s profile, some special numbers by the PENELCO Band and Dancers, and an informal forum or exchange of ideas on the various practices of the Coops. During the evening fellowship, our Cebuano counterparts were not to be outdone for they arrived prepared with their singing and dancing talents.

The next day the visitors were pampered by the employees to a hearty breakfast after which Father Silva facilitated the sharing of Coop practices before they were finally sent off to PELCO II for their next stop.

The Lakbay Aral proved to be an enriching concerned. It paved way for actual benchmarking where Coop personnel can share experiences and learn from one another’s practice in the overall operation of their own Coops and ultimately strive to improve service to member-consumers.
