A faithful and home loving family man, Gavino Manalansan Gantang, Jr. or simply “Gavs”, is the youngest of the ten children of Gavino S. Gantang, Sr. (deceased) and Arsenia Gantang.  He was born in the humble barangay of Cataning, Hermosa, Bataan on May 7, 1963.

Gavs finished his primary education at Hermosa Elementary School from 1971-1976 and thereafter, he spent his secondary level at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parochial School (1981-1984).  He opted to work rather than to continue higher/college education in order to help his parents.  He started to work with BATELCO as a volunteer in 1984-1987.

With the intention to achieve his career goal, he took up a vocational course in Practical Electricity at Central Luzon Institute of Technology and completed it on April 5, 1988.  He tried his luck and worked in Kuwait as an Electrician from 1988 to 1990.

On November 15, 1990, he was hired by the new management of PENELCO as a Trainee for the position of Lineman/Driver for Hermosa SC.  Due to his extreme determination and strength of will, he attained his regular appointment in less than a year (August 16, 1991).  Subsequently, Gavs continued stepping up the ladder from being a Lineman to Leadman to OIC of Maintenance Crew.

Gavs is very hard working and he is at his best in routine positions of trust and responsibility, wherein he reaped the fruit of his hard work on January 1, 2001, when he was given the position of Foreman, Hermosa SC.  He is presently assigned as the Foreman of Dinalupihan SC, a quite large municipality with approximately 15,000 consumers to serve and attend to.

Gavs was married to Alicia S. Agoncillo on December 26, 1992 and they were blessed with three wonderful children, namely, Mark Dennis (14) and Kirsten Riza (13) are now in high school at St. Peter Academy and Vincent Gavin (5).  He enjoys playing basketball with his friends during his free time.

Since his childhood, his goal is to provide his family a good quality of life.  Gavs never stopped learning and striving to achieve his goal.  He believes that a person who makes a success of living is the one who sees his goal steadily and aims for it unswervingly...that is dedication to his work and of course to his family.
