On 25-28 April 2007, during the NEA-EC National Conference and Recognition held in Legenda Hotel, Subic Freeport Zone, PENELCO garnered six (6) awards for Performance Year 2006, two of which are among the Electric Cooperative (EC) major awards while the other four are special citations. These awards include: A. EC Awards:
1. Administrator’s Award – for having gone beyond the mandate of energizing the countryside and for having taken as its advocacy the propagation of the rural electrification program in terms of continuing education, providing the necessary assistance to others on financial, technical and institutional rehabilitation; initiated and shared best practices, thus promoting the paramount interest of member-consumers, and spearheaded cooperative efforts among ECs in time of calamities and other needs. 2. Best in Collection Performance Award – for having achieved 100% collection efficiency level, thus, sustaining the financial viability of the cooperative.
B. Other Citations
1. Special Citation for the First EC which Installed Substation in Every Municipality Within its Coverage Area for being the first Electric Cooperative which installed power substation in every municipality within its coverage area, thus ensuring system reliability. 2. EC Web Award for the Best Website for its content, functionality, design and usability to provide updated information about the EC, its plans, programs and accomplishment. 3. Certificate of Recognition for ECs with the Most Number of Task Force Kapatid Delegation for having sent the most number of Task Force Kapatid Delegation resulting to the immediate rehabilitation of damaged electric distribution systems and restoration of power to affected areas brought about by typhoons Winnie, Caloy, Milenyo and Reming 4. Special Recognition for ECs with Most Number of PDA Graduates for having the most numbers of People Development Academy (PDA) graduates thus, enhancing the leadership, management skills and corporate culture of its official and employees.
These awards show the continuous joint efforts of the Board of Directors and management in reaching the paramount of success thus giving better service to all member-consumers. All of these of course are made possible through the support of the local government units, non-government entries and the member-consumers. |
