Sec. Silva Starts Off The Annual Convention

Sec. Fr. Francisco G. Silva, Presidential Adviser on Rural Electrification (PARE) once again headed out the gate to extract for new effective strategies and best practices of electric cooperatives (EC) through the annual convention. The Institutional Services Department (ISD) of EC, which plays vital role in the management and precepts of well-organized and resourceful means of service, was first in the rank for the annual convention slated on 20-24 February 2007 at the Peoples Development Academy (PDA) in CEBECO III, Toledo City. One hundred nine (109) officers, mostly Department Managers of ISD, from seventy eight (78) electric cooperatives attended the four-day National Annual Convention for Institutional Services.
Sec. Silva and the National Electrification Administrations (NEA) Administrator, Hon. Edita S. Bueno, give high regard to the multi-dimensional human engineering expertise of the ISD officers. The two believe in the capability of the ISD officers for paradigm shift: new targets, new strategies and new activities. In effect, all participants key in the best practices of their cooperative in roundtable discussions which collated outputs are being debated in general assemblies that produced a lot of cross-learning, indication of healthy involvement of the participants to further improve the operation and respond to the rigorous demands of the Magna Carta.
The PENELCO delegates include Ms. Soledad G. Tria, ISDD Manager; Ms. Carolina S. Ferol, Administrative Chief and Ms. Marilou C. Gonzales, Senior Technical Auditor. The three delegates actively participated in the entire convention; they imparted the best practices of PENELCO which are considered helpful in the strategic planning of most EC. The convention aims to promote paradigm shift of the EC in order to sustain in the play of the electric industries. - alougonzales- |
