The Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Inc. held it’s Annual General Membership Assembly last April 29, 2006 at the Solidarity Hall of PENELCO Main Office in Roman Super Highway, Tuyo, City of Balanga.
Two hunderd eighty three members attended the affair with Gov. Enrique T. Garcia Jr. as guest speaker and inductee to our newly elected board of directors. Mayor Melanio Banzon of the City of Balanga sent their City Cooperative Development Officer, Mr. Rolly Dizon to deliver the welcome remarks while Mayor Nelson David of Limay and president of Bataan Mayor’s League delivered an inspirational message. The PENELCO Dancers and the winning group from the employees’ dance contest during the anniversary displayed their winning form when they performed during the program’s intermission, not to be outcome was the PENELCO Band who recruited Dir Operario as their special vocalist/singer for the day which gathered much applause and cheering from the audience. As for the Board of Directors, Dir Fernando Manalili presented the President’s Report since incumbent Board President Nerisa Medina is out of the country while Ms. Ellaine de Guzman, Internal Auditor discussed PENELCO’s status of operations for the year 2005. Likewise, to confirm the accuracy of the report on the status of operations and finances of the Co-op an independent auditor’s report was presented by a representative from RF Miravite and Associates, our external auditor.
Although members’ attendance turnout was rather minuscule the assembly proceeded accordingly with Dir Danilo Ricardo, Board Vice-President officially calling the meeting to order, Dir. Manalili read the minutes of the previous special assembly/meeting which was approved by the body. The exchange of views during the open forum was interesting and significant. Quite a lot of feedbacks and suggestions were brought out to the body by some member-consumers and the board through the moderator, Dir. Operario promised our member-consumers that all those that were discussed in the assembly will be further studied and delivered upon by the board on their succeeding meetings to better serve and satisfy the member-consumers. Next year’s generals assembly will hopefully be attended by more member-consumers, so until then... (liza dela fuente) |
