To commemorate the rising of PENELCO from the grim-BATELCO, an annual celebration has been  a tradition.

Held last 7th of April 2006, Penelco had its 16th year. Supported by all employees and most especially, the General Manager of Penelco, Enrg. Loreto A. Marcelino.

A committee was then formed to make such an occasion so peaceful and meaningful.

To thank the Almighty for this gift, a holy mass was conducted by Msgr. Regi Hizon and it stimulated the entire workforce of Penelco to be more faithful and industrious than ever, because Penelco is their family. We acquire living from working in Penelco and at the same time, we serve all the member-consumer with a hundred percent electrical power reliability all over the province of Bataan.

To open the program, selected employees conducted a prayer and the national anthem. And there were three (3) ladies who appeared to be very charming that afternoon the ladies of ceremony Chleo Ann Matawaran, Joahnne Dionesa and Renee Rose Tomas, who gave that affair a jolly experience.

The over-all chairman of this activity, Mr. Steve Alarcon delivered his very inspiring speech focused on the standing of Penelco as family-oriented, category A+, efficient service to the people of Bataan. He also acknowledged the rest of his committee for the success of the event.

As part of the program, the newly elected  BOD's were present to have graced and witnessed the said annual celebration.

As they were invited one by one to come in front and speak before us, they had their messages. The first one is Ms. Lilibeth Fuster, director for district of Orion. Her message was about the admonition of the priest during the holy ceremony, she said that we should never get tired of doing our best and we should always be God's leader in holiness.

Director Danilo Santos, director for district of Hermosa gave emphasis on the standing of Penelco as a strong cooperative.

The next was director Modesto Salandanan, for the district of Abucay, he then greeted Penelco for its 16th year birthday. His message goes like this "In everything you do, you do it well." He believed that another year has come to Penelco and it means another life, he has got faith that Penelco will maintain its good performance.

Director Carling Enriquez, (district of Balanga) was called in front, he was very happy that Penelco has reached its 16th year, and with many achievements, he said, that we can be remained outstanding only by "Pag-ibig at Pagkakaisa". That we can be of good service to the member-consumers. " Kung wala sila, wala din tayo," he uttered.

Director Alberto Villaruz (district of Limay) and Director Rafael Pizarro (district of Pilar) gave a message of hope for Penelco to be more successful and may it remain standing for centuries.

And finally, the emcees requested the showing of Atty. Jose Michael Operario (director for district of Mariveles) this very good-looking counselor was very pleased for he is now a part of Penelco and he left a phrase that went like this… "wealth and happiness is not actively sought-after, it is the buy-product to the meaningful service to the community, let Penelco be a measure of quality of this service for the coming years.”

There were two special visitors who were invited to honor the anniversary of Penelco. : Gen. Pedro Dumol former NEA administrator and Hon. Enrique "Tet" Garcia, Bataan Provincial Governor, both of them gave special message to Penelco-its service to the people of Bataan, its employees and its future.

Every year, Penelco employees had been preparing a contests. The past year a vocal and choral group was highlighted, this year a dance contest was formed. All employees were divided into 12 groups to participate in the dance competition.

So there goes the rhythm and the bounce, the winners wore the smile, the others felt alright about it.

Truly magnificent is the mind of all mankind, that despite all our hardships in terms of work in the office and field assignments, household tasks, we can still capture the desire of the moment. Our General Manager, Loreto A. Marcelino is one splendid person, he does this so-called "bonding", he makes employees bond together for more  a harmonious relationship, so that all the tasks to be assigned to us will be a little lighter because of the "closeness" that brought us.

Before I end up with this manuscript, let me leave you these words…. Some seeds fell into good soil, and grew up and yielded a crop a hundred times (as great).
