Annual Preventive Maintenance

One of the mandates of Peninsula Electric Cooperative, Inc. is to ensure its power reliability. Substation is considered as the heart and soul of an electric utility therefore must be maintained well in order to serve its member-consumers with uninter-ruptible supply of power. Power Substations and Sub-transmission Department (PSSD), in charge in the operation and maintenance of substations, is scheduling its annual preventive maintenance (APM) on the first quarter of this year. PENELCO has nine (9) substations with a total of 80 MVA excluding three (3) 5 MVA owned by TRANSCO.
Activities in the preventive maintenance includes, Testing of Power Transformer for Oil Dielectric Test, Transformer Test Ratio, Insulation Test. Simulation of protective relays and other works such as bolts tightening, cleaning of bushings and repainting of control house. |
