Seminar Workshop on Communicating Rural Electrification Program held at Penelco

National Electrification Administration (NEA) in assistance with Rural Electrification Advocates of the Philippines (REAP) conducted a seminar workshop on Communicating Rural Electrification Program last October 5 to 6. It was discussed by potential lecturers, Mr.FRANCIS T. NA CIANCENO, JR. (President, REAP Inc.), Gen.PEDRO G. DUMOL(President, CORD and former administrator of NEA) and Ms.JUDITH T. ALFEREZ (Director, Public Affairs Office - NEA) who gave focused more on Public Relations Program and Corporate Communication Plan. The said workshop aimed to strengthen the public relation arm of the Electric Cooperatives (ECs) in the face of the emerging challenges in the electricity and power industry under EPIRA environment it also assisted the ECs in the planning, developing, coordinating and communica-ting their Information, Education, and Communication programs (IEC) in ways that supports their mission, reinforce their reputation and shape their role in community and economic development.
It was held in PENELCO Head Quarters for the reason that it is a showcase in rural electrification because of its Best Practices in IEC and as well for other coops to learn from PENELCO's own story on how it became an exemplar among 119 Electric Cooperatives.
This was participated by ISDD Managers, Information Officers, Member Services Officers, Board of Directors of Electric Coops of Regions I, II, III, IV and V.
