This was the asking statement of Gov. Tet Garcia on Conversion of PENELCO to Stock Cooperative and Registration with CDA in a meeting held recently at the Governor's Office. The Go-vernor also added that while PENELCO is running very well why do we have to commit and register with CDA. On the same venue, Gov. Tet also asked the question to Mr. Pete Ilagan (President of NASECORE), who was pursuing the issue, why is it that out of 119, only 5 registered with CDA while the 114 electric coops did not.
Mr. Pete Ilagan explained the reason but the good Governor seem not satisfied, so in his final words he advised the group to study first and or still wait for the outcome of the 5 coops who registered with CDA.
Precisely, this is the same reason why PENELCO is not yet lifting a finger to react on this issue. PENELCO will definitely not risk the welfare of the member- consumers. (SGT) (By Gov. Tet Garcia) |
