Summer, a period from March to May when fires are more common. Usually due to the hot weather and absence of rain making it more favorable for the fire to spread. It's a known fact and also supported by investigations that  fires were mostly caused by electrical faults which is unfortunate because they are preventable. People tend to get lax about their homes and buildings electrical installation as times goes by and take for granted the need for maintenance and proper housekeeping. Another is installing additional circuits or branches without consulting the proper authorities. This is commonly done to save money, but in the long run, especially when repeated by several consumers, the result could be catastrophic. A case in point would be public markets, where each stall is provided a limited load to which they should follow. However, consumers who install air condition, refrigerator, etc. will exceed the load capacity, resulting to overloading. A single consumer do the damage but imagine if half or all did the same to their stall. With this, only a short time is needed for disaster to strike.

It is timely to remind consumers, not only during fire prevention month to observe good practices regarding electrical matters.
