The awarding was held in Malacañan Palace last March 14, 2005. Among the awardees were: Central Negros Electric Cooperative, Inc. Union (CENECO Union) for Secretary Francisco G. Silva Award for Best Union, Mr. Wilfred L. Billena (ILECO), Mr. Carlos B. Itable (BOHECO I), Mr. Edecio C. Santina (CEBECO I & III), Mr. Jesus P. de la Victoria (DASURECO), and last but not the least our very own Engr. Loreto A. Marcelino (PENELCO) for Pedro G. Dumol Award for Most Outstanding General Manager. Recipients of Emmanuel N. Pelaez Award for Most Outstanding Electric Cooperative were: Cebu I  Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CEBECO I), Cebu III Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CEBECO III), Bohol Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BOHECO I), and Davao Del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (DASURECO). Secretary Vincent S. Perez Award for Unprecedented Excellent Performance awardees were: Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (AKELCO) and Bohol II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (BOHECO II).

Out of 55 electric cooperatives in Luzon only PENELCO was awarded. Aside from the 2 Board of Directors: Fernando Manalili & Reynaldo Valencia; the PENELCO employees who were able to witness the event were: Ms. Sol Tria, Ms. Evelyn Quicho, Ms. Ellaine de Guzman, Engr. Antonio Paguio and Engr. Edwin Zaldivar.

Geared towards continuous improvement GM Loreto Marcelino hopes to uphold the mission of the cooperative which are: to provide electricity for all the people; the electric power shall be adequate, reliable, and of high quality; and lastly reasonable rates by further reducing systems loss and improve collection efficiency for 2005.
