CAROLINA SAMSON FEROL or simply Lina to her family and relatives and Carol as fondly called by her friends and associates in the office was born on November 27, 1957 in Pilar, Bataan. She is the 3rd to the eldest in the brood of eight, by their proud parents, Efren Samson (deceased) and Gliceria Ercillo. Carol earned the title of Graduate in Nursing (GN) at United Doctors Medical Center (a sister school of FEU) in April 1979, for which, the same year when she passed the Board Exam in October. Thereafter, she took supplemental course in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Arellano University in Legarda, Manila in March 1980.
She had her first working experience as a substitute teacher in Balut Elementary School in Pilar, Bataan in 1980 for six months and eventually landed a job at St Joseph Hospital for at least three months (February 1982 - April 1982) as a Staff Nurse.
It was in May 1982 when she was hired as Coop Nurse of BATELCO. She performed multi-tasks at the said cooperative, including personnel works and Secretary to the General Manager until the coop's foreclosure in January 1990.
She was fortunate to be rehired under the management of the new cooperative, PENELCO, in May 1990 as Personnel Officer. Six months later, she was appointed as the Chief of the Personnel Section and subsequently, she was promoted to Chief of the Administrative Division. Despite her hectic schedules, Mrs. Ferol also performs medical related works, likewise, handles legal cases.
True enough, this woman was best described by her staff as a thoughtful person though at times a bit strict. They say, "our boss gives us freedom to come up with our own ideas. She listens to our own opinions first before making any decision. Decision making for her is always based on consensus. She is known as a person of few words - someone that would rather think than talk.
Carol, as a sociable person, is very much active in office activities. She is somewhat meticulous when it comes to organizing an event. She supervised very well most of the affairs of the coop. She is one of those employees that actively participates to liven up the occasion. She is a good dancer, likewise, indulged herself in sports.
She is married to Jose Q. Ferol, Jr. or simply called Junior, a resident of Pilar, Bataan. The two happens to be classmates during their elementary days. They got married in January 1990, five days after foreclosure of BATELCO.
Mr. Ferol, "JQ" is an employee of Petron-Bataan Refinery, assigned at Maintenance Department. They were blessed with one child, Jose Carlo, (9) a grade 4 student at Bataan Montessori School.
She considers her family as her source of joy. They spent weekends by hearing mass every Sundays and go to their favorite places or sometimes go out of towns with relatives and friends.
